Five Hearty Recipes

Even though Spring has Sprung, in many parts of Australia, we’re still experiencing chilly and drizzly weather. These recipes are packed with legumes and whole grains, to warm you from the inside out. It’s easy to get your quota of whole grain and legumes with these recipes. Where possible, aim for whole grains, so swap out white rice for brown (adjust the cooking time by a further 5-10 minutes).

Is there anything more warming than a bowl of soup? This vegetarian-friendly recipe will satisfy even the fussiest eaters. Perfect for a chilly Spring night, when Broccoli and Peas are at their best. Hot tip: Dried split peas are low in cholesterol and high in fiber.

Red Lentil Dahl with Sweet Potato

Pair this delicious and filling dahl with some brown rice, and you have a protein and fibre-filled dinner. This recipe is also super cost effective!
