Bread is one of the oldest foods in human history and offers a delicious source of complex carbohydrates, dietary fibre, vitamins, minerals and protein.
While whole grain bread has day-to-day benefits, including improving satiety and gut health, the long-term benefits are even greater. Eating just three servings of whole grains a day, including whole grain bread, can reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease and certain types of cancers.
Unfortunately, most Aussies don’t eat enough whole grains. So, to help you get your bread in and celebrate International Bread Day (one of our favourite days!), we’re rounding up six delicious ways to have your bread and eat it, too.
