Breakfast Trifle

quick breakfast idea that's fun for the kids with weetbix, fruit and yoghurt
Provides
3.5 serves of whole grain
Each serve is 16g of whole grain. GLNC recommends 3 serves daily.

Serves: 2 kids or 1 adult

Preparation time:  5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened yogurt
  • 4 Weet-Bix
  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans

Method

  1. Using a small saucepan heat the blueberries and reduce for a couple minutes until thick.
  2. Take a glass (approximately 270ml) and start to layer your trifle, starting with 1⁄2 crushed Weet-Bix followed by 1⁄2 the yogurt, then the blueberry mix and pecans. Repeat once again.
  3. Finish with a layer of the crushed pecan nuts.
  4. Sit for a few minutes to allow the Weet-Bix to soften before eating.
