Chicken Style Burger with Crispy Slaw

Sink your teeth into a plant-based chicken-style burger topped with crispy slaw, offering a perfect blend of savoury and crunchy in every bite. This delicious combination delivers a satisfying, hearty meal with a refreshing twist.

Serves: 4 | Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 1 pack Vegie Delights™ Chicken Style Burgers
  • 4 wholemeal bread rolls
  • ½ cup baby spinach
  • 4 slices reduced-fat cheddar cheese of choice
  • ½ tbs aioli
  • ½ tbs sweet chilli sauce

Slaw

  • ½ cup sliced red cabbage
  • ½ cup sliced white cabbage
  • ½ cup sliced carrot
  • ½ cup sliced shallot
  • ½ cup coriander leaves
  • 1 long red chilli, deseeded and finely sliced (optional)

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients for the slaw in a medium bowl and stir thoroughly. Put aside.
  2. Preheat frypan or BBQ plate to medium heat. Add oil and cook burgers 10-15 minutes, turning half way. Remove from heat. Add bread rolls to frypan and lightly toast.
  3. Assemble burgers. On the base of each roll, add spinach, Chicken Style Burger, cheese and sauces. Top with the slaw and add roll lid.
  4. Serve hot and enjoy.
