Apple Pie Toasties

A healthy twist on a classic. This Apple Pie Toastie is the perfect recipe to satisfy sweet cravings, with the added benefits of whole grains, vitamins and minerals.

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of Tip Top The One Wholemeal bread
  • 1 green apple, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Method

  1. Combine ricotta, honey, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  2. Spread the ricotta mixture on each slice of bread.
  3. Place apple slices on two of the slices, then top with the other two slices.
  4. Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  6. Cut the sandwich in half, stack the slices, and drizzle with extra honey.
